Title: Locate the Carrier - Hawker Nimrod.
Description: This Hawker Nimrod returns to the carrier in rapidly worsening weather. The Hawker Nimrod was basically the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm's version of the Fury single-seat interceptor fighter, modifications included strengthened airframe and larger fuel tanks and an extra 3.5ft added to it's wingspan. The Hawker Nimrod first flew in 1930 and entered FFA service as an interceptor in 1931 but had been re-designated as a fighter trainer by the start of WW2. The Nimrod finally ended it's service with the FAA as a weather aircraft at the end of 1941. The Hawker Nimrod was powered by a Rolls-Royce Kestrel IIS or V supercharged engine, a total of 81 aircraft were produced in the 1930's for the FAA and a small number utilised by the Japanese, Danish and Portuguese armed forces.
