05/02/08Baviaanskloof Valley ForestThe Baviaanskloof Mountains in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa boast pristine indigenous Yellowwood forests hidden deep in almost impregnable gorges (Kloofs). These dense areas, habitat to leopard and Lynx, comprise natural springs with rock pools and indienous ferns. ![]() These wild undisturbed ferns remain hidden from humans and languish besides natural springs and rock pools. The rocks covered in algae from being under foliage ly strewn deep in gorges in the Baviaanskloof. They have been swept down from crumbling cliffs upstream by huge floods during past geo-disturbances. ![]() Trackback address for this post:http://donbellartist.com/htsrv/trackback.php/198
